We recently hired Tate and Son to complete some projects around our newly purchased home. We couldn’t be more amazed by the results. Our place looks absolutely beautiful. These projects weren’t easy (in fact, many handymen were not able to complete them because they didn’t have the skillset) and they definitely required an “attention to detail” type of eye.
Our home looks beautiful because Shawn and his team really went the extra mile in making sure everything was to our liking. Shawn was responsive, professional, and extremely knowledgable. He spent an hour walking through our home, making sure that everything was in order.
He was honest, he listened, and his techniques seemed very cutting-edge. I could tell that he cared about our home and our family. Shawn also had some excellent ideas and was willing to explain the rationale behind specific techniques. I could tell that this wasn’t his first rodeo. He also has a creative eye and imagined things that I wasn’t able to envision initially.
We had such a positive experience and I am so thankful that we found them. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

I am so late in leaving this review! Shawn and his crew helped us in December of 2021 with a bathroom/plumbing issue. We initially thought our leak was coming from the tub, which was the opportunity I was looking for to replace the tub and redo a bathroom.
Shawn sent his plumber and crew to investigate and found the leak was coming from the second floor waterline to the bathroom sink. The team was able to fix the plumbing, remove damaged wall and ceiling material, replace it, paint upstairs and down and install new laundry cabinets to replace the damaged set. So, Shawn came to my home with the idea I wanted to redo a bathroom and found the problem to be much simpler than expected, AND he treated me like the customer that was asking for a full bathroom remodel! This was all done during the Christmas holiday and we were added to his existing work schedule without an issue.
The demo, plumbing, patching and painting were all 100%. Shawn also hooked us up with a designer to purchase the cabinets which arrived a week after they were ordered. The crew messaged me to ask if I would mind having them installed on a Saturday! Who works on a Saturday during the holiday season? I am so grateful for Shawn and his team. Looking forward to having them back for a bathroom remodel!

I worked with Shawn Tate and his team on remodeling both of my bathrooms. They did AMAZING work!! The crew was polite, clean, and asked my input along the way to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Shawn checked in multiple times during the process and everyone made sure
I was 100% happy with the work at the end of each day. If there as something I didn’t like, they worked to fix it immediately (but the work was so good that there wasn’t much I didn’t immediately love!) I would definitely recommend and use Tate & Son again!

We had the privilege of working with Shawn during the homebuying process. Shawn came out to inspect everything for us and give us his take on some of the issues we had found. His breadth of experience shined as he was able to no only identify issues but also use real life experiences and scenarios to explain how they could be resolved and the frequency of which he had seen such issues in the area.
He was able to ease a lot of our concerns about the home and provided some piece of mind during a very stressful process.

I had Shawn and his wonderful crew renovate my kitchen. I wanted to take down 7 big picture windows, build drywalls, and extend roof. Shawn always listens to my vision, answers my questions, provides his professional input and advice.

Shawn helped to build out my 200 square foot salon suite space and from start to finish he was on top of everything. It is difficult to find contractors that show up when they say they will, but Shawn did just that!
He was on time to every appointment. Shawn and his crew installed cabinets, countertop, a shiplap wall and hung mirrors and shelves. I was also in a really big rush due to reopening right after the first mandated COVID shut down and Shawn got the job done!!

My two 1972 bathrooms needed to be brought to 2020. When I began searching for a contractor, I looked for quality, communication and the comfort of knowing reputable workers would be in my home. Only TATE AND SON met all my requirements. From start to finish, it was a pleasant experience. Shawn listened and answered all my questions.
His “A” team (Alfonso,Adrian,Arturo) were exceptionally skilled, friendly, cooperative, hard working and kind. This pro team removed the walls and totally rebuilt each bathroom with beautiful tile work and new fixtures. Looking forward to my next project with this great company.

I was extremely impressed from start to finish with Shawn Tate and Son Construction Company and his amazing work crew (Alfonso Martinez and family). We had an extensive conversion of our detached 100 year old plus garage into an office/guesthouse for me to work from. The garage was in complete disrepair (before and after pictures provided for reference).
The job was done extremely well, the crew was able to work with installation of historic items such as antique French doors and a huge Stainglass window. The work was executed just wonderfully. Every attention to detail was paid.
Every consideration was made to ensure the look of the remodel matched the main house, which is historic. Any concerns or minor tweaks were addressed immediately. Helpful suggestions along the way were offered for consideration. The job was done earlier than expected. I am so very happy to work in this company.

I hired Tate & Son to investigate some windows that had leaked from the top of the frame during heavy rain last winter. After meeting with Shawn Tate in person, he emailed me a clearly written proposal for review/signature, and had his team of Zach and Nick over to my house a few days later.
I went with Tate & Son because I felt their price was reasonable, and they had received a positive review from someone else on Nextdoor for a similar scope of work. Indeed, Shawn and his team were professional, courteous and open to explaining what they were doing and why while they were working on my house.
When we encountered some unforeseen conditions with a couple of the windows, I felt Shawn negotiated with me fairly to reach an agreement on cost.
Tate & Son has earned a place on my shortlist of contractors to contact for any future needs.
